Philip K. Dick Slept Here

photoRecently, I read Philip K. Dick’s novel Now Wait for Last Year. It included a description of Washington, DC vivid enough to make me to wonder if the famous sci-fi author had ever lived here.

It turns out Dick did live in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, D.C. from 1936 to 1938 in the Petworth neighborhood, just three miles from my home. I was able to check on this thanks to a website called DC Writers’ Homes.  Incidentally, The Washington Post recently wrote about this website, and Philip Dick’s house specifically.

I’d stumbled across this website a few years earlier while seeking out the DC residence of Roald Dahl Yep, they’ve got that one figured out too.
